In this article Alan F Harrison BA(Hons, MEd, FHCIMA, Head of Faculty of Community Studies at Canterbury College of Technology, provides some details from the research he is doing into the social history of Scottish food and drink. Six years in a similar post in Edinburgh suggested to him that although any historical aversion to pork has by now been much reduced it is still well worth investigating.
